Hailing from Finland, Jani has dedicated himself to the intricacies of sprints, hurdles, horizontal jumps, and physical preparation, earning a reputation as a world-class coach.

Born in 1974, Jani Ratia embarked on a professional coaching career, grounded in both formal education and hands-on experience. He holds official academic credentials from Instituto Superior de Cultura Física Manuel Fajardo (Cuba) and the University of Jyväskylä (Finland). Jani’s commitment to self-development and professional growth is evident in his journey, where he had the privilege to learn from and be mentored by top-tier teachers in coaching, sports research, and sports therapy.

Jani’s coaching expertise spans diverse levels, including professional, national team, national junior team, academy, club, school, and community levels. His experiences have transcended borders, with enriching interactions in Canada, Cuba, Finland, Grenada, Mexico, South Africa, and the United States. Engaging with participants from various age groups and cultural backgrounds, Jani has cultivated a colorful mosaic of experiences.

While Jani’s primary passion lies in athletics, specifically sprints and hurdles, he has also applied his coaching prowess in individual and team settings across multiple sports, including football, baseball, volleyball, and squash. His versatility extends to working with athletes in football, ice hockey, and floorball at various levels.
